Well, there was the Solstice on that day.

Generally though, it's often considered to be an end to their calendar much like the New Years Eve is the last day.

This almost makes me want to relearn the Egyptian calendar...

Anyway, happy belated new year everyone. xP Suppose the Chinese new year is closer... >.>

As for resolutions, I always do what needs done. Planning them ahead of time just ends up more daunting and then people fail.
