Jan is really fighting back against Nogitsune. I'm proud of her. ^^

I agree. Food should taste good. Sure, you can survive off of food that doesn't taste good. But there's an aspect in good tasting food that nourishes your soul, body, and mind in a way you can't do it if you're eating crappy tasting food.

I'd prefer quality over taste. Then again, I'm likely going to end up vegan one of these days. xD That's seriously going to murder the "taste" of my foods. xD

    ....Quality over taste?

I don't even understand what you're trying to say.

Oh, and you keep talking about kids who were raised on raw vegan and vegan plans?

I am one of those kids. My dad implemented a raw vegan diet in our household for years that eventually broke way into a vegan diet simply because raw veganism is both expensive and extremely time consuming. (To make things like wheat grass taste good takes a lot of time and machinery and it didn't end up helping)

We don't learn to appreciate vegan foods over sugar and meat. Instead we make wild conspiracy theories about evil adults for fun. If you really think about it that should answer your questions. ^^

    Again, I'll be brief.

    Nutrition is good....

But TASTE BUDS ARE THERE FOR A REASON

Besides, why take nasty-tasting food if you can find tastier ones with just the same amount of nutrition? Trust me, if you're a bargain hunter like me, you find out those things that your parents refuse to tell you as a child~

Quality over taste = Nutrition should come before pleasing the taste buds.

I could be playing adult in this whole thing, ya know. >.>

Raw veganism is expensive. The amount you need to eat alone to make up a standard 2000 calorie diet is insane.

I like to think they're there for self preservation, much like our sense of smell is.

But i'm not saying all nutritious food tastes awful. Taste is a person thing. But I'd say that if it's got more nutrition, it should take precedence over food that's not so great health-wise, but tastes amazing. If you can score both in the same thing, total win win.

If raw veganism is outrageously expensive, perhaps it's because its unnatural and if its unnatural, maybe it's not as healthy as perceived? If you have to eat outrageous amounts to make up for what you're losing by choosing raw veganism, hint hint, that's not a good diet plan.

Eating raw vegan food used to be much simpler back before stores. Just go through the forest, pick out and eat what you want along the way. Maybe pick up a bit more for the friends and family in the village. Maybe even bring them along with once their old enough. Show them what's good to eat, what to watch out for, and they could carry stuff too!

Actually, No's exactly right on the money about picking out stuff for the village back in the day! It's a shame that now it's unreliable.

I used to ship raw vegetables off Ebay except that the deers started attacking the mailman's truck.

He now has a few broken fingers from warding off those mutant deers.
    It's a lesson.

Well, it turns out that if you aren't very smart, you can suffer protein deficiency.

Besides, the gland thingy that processes tough vegetables... Appendix was it called? deflated and became smaller as we went through the evolutionary process to where we are now. That means the digestive system won't be able to handle a lot of it and give you stomach aches or cause nausea.

A good thing would be proper dietary balance. Besides, the function of fiber is to give off the feeling of being full though mostly... You're not. In the end, we still need carbohydrates to function properly because that is directly converted to energy unlike fiber.... Which just basically makes sure you don't eat too much.

Ayame: Balanced diets come in all sorts of flavors! Just takes some research to do it, especially with all the food we have now! xD

This goes for all things, whether you go raw, vegan, vegetarian or omnivore. The solution to deficiency is to be smart about the foods you're going to eat regardless of preference. xP

Titan: That mailman should have known better!

Brinck: Some groups still do that. xD

Q: Moving past something doesn't necessarily mean it's better! More convenient maybe, but doesn't mean it's better!

xD No problem. There's bound to be a source of something most veggies offer in other fruits, after all. O-o

All it takes is research. The problem is, most of us are too lazy to take the time to research and make sure we're living a properly balanced diet.

Luna - they do? Conspiracy - Page 2 427495 I want to go out and do that! We're not even allowed to drink the water in the mountains out here anymore - we're supposed to filter it first.

It's unfortunate. xP But hey, not everyone's after healthy food. xP There's actually a place somewhere here in the states where they only serve food that'll likely induce a heart attack. xD

Yes, some places still do that. They're few and far between though. Filter it for what? They generally give a reason for that. There's also some people who just wander around. They're homeless, but not incapable people. Some travel around by foot, perhaps feasting on things that they find in the forests and not. I forget what they're specifically called, but they live their lives without money. They refuse money when it's given. I recall a story of one woman living like that for abotu 30 years, dying in her 60's, can't recall from what though.

sounds like fun... money is such a pain to deal with... if I could, I would live like that... except that would keep me totally offline and that part would suck.

filter it for lots of things.... I can't remember them all - I just know I'm not supposed to drink Cali mountain water unfiltered.
