Indeed. However, a good ending can make it quite alright. ^^

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
I liked the ending to Kenichi. It was kinda cheesy, but I liked it.

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
It wasn't too much cheesiness. Just enough to give me the feel-goods.

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
I'm on episode 10 of Ghost In The Shell....
I just can't get a read on this show =/
I really enjoy the laughing man plot. I just don't really like the section 9 characters...Like, if they were to all blow up and die....I wouldn't mind. But the Laughing Man plot? That's interesting. ^^

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
It just is.
It's weird, cause usually the characters are what drag me into a show, and the plot grows around them. Perfect example of that is One Piece.
But this show it's the opposite. I am interested in what's going on in this Laughing Man business, but the Section 9 guys? They're just...Not that appealing.

I have to agree. It's not that they have no depth, it's just hard to ...feel a connection??

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
Exactly!
I feel like they have no flaws or weaknesses, is why. They have no quirks, either. They're all straight laced and tough serious macho people.
And that's all there really is to them.

Mm, mostly. There doesn't seem to be a lot of inner turmoils and all those lovely things that make them memorable ^^

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
They could take some characterization tips from Oda.
Also, the Major doesn't appeal to me. She just seems like a know it all.
And usually spunky smart old men appeal to me, but he doesn't, either...

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
I agree. It's good to see a strong female lead character, but at times she seems so blah.
And for some reason I can't get over the name Batou...

Haha. Batou is probably my favorite, but the fact he has no pupils is bothersome.
I don't care the gender of the main character...But if they're not really personable, then there's little left to enjoy...

^^ His eyes remind me of tanning goggles.
It's not a big deal, but to see a female that's not wimpy, or a male that's not uber-macho is refreshing at times.

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
I can see what you mean! But still, he's somewhat cool?
I have no trouble with that, I suppose. I mean, Erza in Fairy Tail was one of my favorite characters in Fairy Tail and she's pretty tough. Kenichi, on the other hand, was pretty wimpy, and Nico Robin also is pretty tough stuff. I don't mind if girls are kick butt or guys are wimps (as long as they are humorously wimps, and not just weak).
But there are good ways to do it, and bad ways. And Ghost In The Shell doesn't seem to be doing it right for me. However, the show itself, for the most part, is still somewhat interesting. I don't know that it's worth the hype, or that I'd recommend it to others when there are plenty of great Animes to be watched or read, but it's not something I don't enjoy. But I find myself watching it only to say I've watched it, with hopes that the series gets more interesting over time, more than anything.
I do really enjoy the Laughing Man stuff, though. Any episode that has the Laughing Man as a big part of the plot I find to be pretty good.

Hmmmmm, from what I've read, it seems like Ghost in the Shell is more of a plot centered anime rather than a character centered anime.

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
Well, I finished Ghost In The Shell first season today.
I can honestly say I am not all that impressed. Especially with the amount of love this series has gotten, I expected, more...
Not really sure what to do from here.
The only reason I'd continue watching Ghost In The Shell at this point is just to say I've seen it. I am not really watching it cause I enjoyed it..I mean, it was alright. But yeah. I feel like I've seen enough.
