    WOTNOPOLIS: 19 B. Empty WOTNOPOLIS: 19 B.

Post by quater Mon Feb 14, 2011 11:13 pm

    WOTNOPOLIS 19. B
Jake shook as he looked at the two leaders of the Snake gang. “Why’d you bring this weakling before us?” Destinykil laughed. “Should I crush him? Want me obliterate him?”
Jake flinched as Destinykil’s laugh echoed in his ears. Renden shook his head. “Now, now, Destinykil. If we want to rule the East of WOTNOPOLIS, even pathetic subordinates like this guy will be needed. We can use him as a shield against bullets or something.”
Jake was told to get lost and go find them some food. He could hear them laughing as he ran away. He stared at the sidewalk and tried not to get in anyone’s way. His mom had told him long ago to not join a gang but instead to concentrate on making friends. He shook his head. “It’s not like I wanted to join them,” he told her. “But without a gang behind me I’m going to die. It’s not like I’m strong.”
She had been so sad that day. He had been sad, too. He hated following the Snake gang. They bullied him and tortured him. Renden loved to put Jake into positions where he’d get in trouble. Jake found himself taken in by the police several times thanks to the Snake gang framing him. When Moonlightnights would pick him up she always looked so sad. Jake hated it. But what else could he do?
And as cruel as Renden and the others were, Destinykil was worse. Just being in the same room with him made Jake uneasy. Jake was never sure if Destinykil was going to get the urge to walk over and snap his neck. He’d seen Destinykil have this urge in the past with much more important people. It was terrifying. Several times a guy would fail a mission, or win a fight, but not by enough. And they were mercilessly dropped off.
Although, being in the Snake gang really hadn‘t done a lot for him. He still hated walking the streets at night or being away from home. He was pathetic. If anyone challenged Jake or wanted to mug him all he could do was say, “I’m in the Snake gang,” and hope it was enough. And it wasn’t often times.

Jake glared at Destinykil. A giant black sword was inches away from his face. Dark smoke curled off the edges of the blade and wrapped itself around the giant man‘s frame. Destinykil kept his eyes on Jake and smiled. “Well, well,” Destinykil said as he swung his sword into the ground in front of him and cackled.
“I don’t know what’s gotten into you, but you’re not the pathetic trash you used to be, boy,” Destinykil smiled. “I’m going to enjoy cutting you.”
Jake sprung into the air as Destinykil’s sword smashed into the ground. Jake watched as a trail of black smoke followed the sword. “Wow, that’s a good leap you got on you,” Destinykil laughed. Destinykil launched off the ground and matched Jake’s height. “Too bad you’re not nearly fast enough.”
Destinykil swung his sword down towards him. Jake dodged in mid-air and shot a firework back. Jake landed on his feet and grabbed his arm. The shock from the attack had been painful. The warehouse shook as Destinykil‘s body smashed into a pile of crates. “That actually hurt,” Destinykil grunted.
Jake smiled. He knew his hand was in a lot of pain from that attack but it was worth it to see that guy fall. “That was embarrassing for you,” Blackrain called out to Destinykil. “He’s weak.”
Blackrain walked over to the door leading out of the warehouse and looked over at Shugo. “If Amaterasu is the last member, and we have Clair, then I’m starting up our plan. I’m tired of waiting.”
Shugo pushed his glasses up and nodded. “I’m going to stay here and see what kind of guys follow Q.”
Blackrain shook his head. Shugo’s obsession with the Eagle gang had already slowed down their plans. But he had Clair now and that was all that mattered to him. Shugo watched Blackrain leave and pointed at Seshimazi. “Mr. Seshimazi, would you please escort him. He doesn’t need the protection but I’d like it if you did so. And then take the Scorpion gang out for a night of destruction. I’ll see you in the morning.”
Seshimazi smiled and hopped off the crate he’d been sitting on. “Sounds great!”
Seshimazi followed Blackrain out the door of the warehouse. Jake felt a bit relieved. Two less people to worry about. He looked over and saw Shugo staring at him. Something about the look in his eyes made Jake shiver. “I see you’re relieved that two of us are gone. You’re thinking, ‘Hey, maybe I can get out of this alive,’ aren’t you?”
Jake looked away. He didn’t like having his thoughts read. He focused on the people in the warehouse. Amaterasu was standing next to Shugo. Amaterasu hadn’t taken his eyes off him. It was unnerving.
Destinykil had started to advance. “Lucky trick,” Destinykil snapped. “It won’t work again.”
Shugo walked between the two of them and put a hand out towards Destinykil. Destinykil glared at it but took a step back. Jake watched Shugo and kept his distance. “Don’t be mistaken. Your odds haven’t dramatically increased just because we got rid of two people. You look down on us. I hate people that look down on me.”
Shugo waved his hand at Jake. “Do you need five tigers to catch and eat a single person? Absolutely not. So does two leaving hurt the chances of the person being eaten? Of course not. And you’re facing dragons, boy!”
Jake sprang off the ground and flipped over the two of them. He landed next to Clair. Clair had been watching him quietly and hadn’t said a word. Jake grabbed Clair by the hand and pulled her. “Come on, we’re getting out of here,” Jake said.
Clair pulled her arm back. “No, I’m not going with you.”
Jake stopped. He held onto Clair’s hand even tighter. “You’re not leaving the Eagle gang.”
“Yes, I am,” Clair said. “I have to do this.”
“I refuse!” Jake shouted and pulled her arm. “You’re not leaving us. Q? Yoyo? Bano? We all care about you! We all need you. You’re a part of our gang and we’re not giving you up. So come on.”
Clair said nothing and looked away. “You heard her,” Destinykil shouted as he swung his sword. Jake sprung out of the way as the blade came down. “Get over it. She’s with us now. You guys lost.”
Jake sprang forward and punched Destinykil in the chest. Jake screamed as he bounced into the ground. “Holy crap! How did Q beat you?” Jake said as he felt his hand. It was definitely broken from that attack.
“Pfft, that guy got lucky,” Destinykil smirked. “I’m much stronger now that I have my weapon of choice.”
Jake stood up and held his arm. The injuries from yesterday were still heavy on his mind as he felt his body ache. “If this keeps going I’m really in trouble,” Jake thought as he looked over at Clair.
Jake realized he was looking up from the ground. He wasn’t sure when he had gotten there. A pool of blood was spilling from somewhere. Jake realized his hands were sticky. A knobbing pain was eating at him. “What was that noise?” Jake tried to ask.
Jake could hear Destinykil screaming at someone. He tried to sit up but the pain was unbearable. He saw Clair’s face and knew something was wrong. The look on her face was horrifying. Jake looked down and realized the blood was his.
“You don’t take someone else’s victim! What’s wrong with you, Amaterasu!” Destinykil screamed. “I know you’ve only been in a gang for a minute but-”
“You were taking too long,” Amaterasu said as he put his gun away.

“I really like those guys,” Moonlightnights said as she closed the door. “We need to have them over every thanksgiving,” she smiled.
“You do?” Jake asked. “They are a lot of fun, but you kinda embarrassed me!”
“You think? Oh come on!” Moonlightnights laughed. “I’m pretty cool, I like to think.”
Jake rolled his eyes. “Well, I have to admit, I really like them.”
“They’re nothing like that mean group. I really am glad you made some friends, Jake,” Moonlightnights beamed. “I knew you’d make some good friends.”
Jake smiled. He had to admit, it had been a great night. He wasn’t sure if he’d ever been this happy.
But it still bothered him that he wasn’t strong enough to really help out. He knew he had to get stronger. He wasn’t sure how, but he had to. But at least for once he had something. Something that made him happy. He walked the streets proud.

“He got back up?” Destinykil grinned. “Well, that’s neat.”
Jake took a step forward. Every part of his body ached from pain as he moved towards Clair. Clair held her hands up to her face as she watched him. “Jake, just stop already. Why are you doing this?” she asked. “You don’t need to. Go back to the gang. Give up on me.”
Jake stared at her. He took another step and felt blood drip out of his mouth. “I c-can’t. There’s no way I could face the gang again if I found you but couldn’t bring you back. You belong with us. That’s that.”
Clair closed her eyes and shook her head. “Leave! You’re hurting yourself, Jake,” Clair felt a tear streak down her cheek. “You can’t do this. You don‘t need to do this,” she whispered.

Jake smiled after their fight with Seshimazi and the Scorpion gang. “I can’t believe I really beat em. Did you see me? I was all like ka-pow!” Jake shouted and punched the air.
“Yeah, I was there,” Yoyo laughed. “Geez, it’s really not that big of a deal. Those guys were small fry, well, ‘cept their leader.”
Jake kept smiling. “Who cares? I finally beat someone. This is the beginning! I’m going to become as strong as you guys someday. The Eagle gang will go farther! I won’t let you guys down.”
“Oiy, you talk too much,” Yoyo shook her head. “But I’m glad you’re learning to fight.”
Jake nodded. “Believe me. I’m not going to be a burden on you guys. You’re all my best friends.”

Jake felt himself falling. Destinykil pulled his sword out of Jake’s body and watched as the black smoke covered the blood that had landed on his sword. “This sword is amazing,” Destinykil said. “What’s it made of?”
“I think it’s some kind of special Amp crystal,” Shugo answered. “But the mystery is that it’s a cursed sword that can consume anything. I figured with that you’d be able to handle anyone, no?”
Destinykil smiled and roared across the warehouse. “I’ll be undefeated!”
“So loud,” Amaterasu complained. “But there, you got the last attack. You happy?”
    “Yes!” Destinykil screamed.
Jake couldn’t breathe. His lungs were filling with blood. He looked up at Clair and reached a hand out toward her. Tears fell as she shook her head. “No, Jake, I have to, my brother,” she stuttered. “If I go back, then-”
Shugo stepped between Clair and Jake and put his hands out. “Well, I think I’ve seen enough. Q attracts people who never give up and what not. The kind that are willing to get stronger to fight under him. A good breed. But who I collected is even better. Men that hate the Eagle gang. People who will do anything they can to kill you guys.”
Jake felt his world sliding away.

“I can’t believe I finally defeated someone. I helped everyone get away. I stopped SickSelfishSycho!” Jake shouted down the stairway. He knew no one could hear him but he was happy. He had protected his gang.
He held onto the stairway railing. “Yeah, I can’t go any farther,” he laughed. “It hurts so bad, too.”
It didn’t matter. He was so happy. He had done something. He had protected everyone. He had finally made a difference.

Jake felt something hit him in the face. “There ya go, wakey wakes,” Shugo said. “I was talking and you just went and fell asleep on me. Isn’t that rude of him? So rude of him.”

Jake hurried through the streets of WOTNOPOLIS. He’d been worthless. If he had been with Knssquad and Clair he could of done more. His fight against SSS hadn’t meant a thing. He looked around the city desperately.
“I’m going to find her,” he said. “It doesn’t matter what it takes.”

Shugo’s hand smacked Jake. “Leave him alone!” Clair shouted.
“He’s the one who challenged us, Miss Clairvoyant,” Shugo answered. “And whatever happens is hi-”
Jake’s fist smashed into Shugo‘s face. Shugo dropped Jake and took a few steps back. His glasses fell to the ground and cracked. Shugo was paralyzed as he stared at Jake. Jake shakily stood and walked over to Clair. He hugged her.
    “Jake,” Clair whispered.
    “Let’s go, Clair,” Jake said.
    Clair nodded. “Alright.”
    “Go!” Shugo yelled. “Go where?”
Jake felt himself flipping and smashing into the ground. Shugo’s foot slammed into Jake’s skull. “Die!” Shugo screamed. “You bratty piece of trash! How dare you touch me!”
Shugo jumped to his side as an ice arrow flashed past him. Clair glared at him as she held her bow out. “Stay away from him,” she whispered.
Jake felt himself being picked up. Clair threw him over her shoulder and ran to the door of the Warehouse.
“No way, girly!” Destinykil cackled as he blocked the door. An arrow hit him in both feet and he fell with a crash. “That lit-”
“Stop, Destinykil,” Shugo answered. “We can’t change Clair’s mind. Blackrain wouldn’t be happy if we killed his sister. I am sure that’s something he’d rather do himself.”
“But-” Destinykil started but Shugo shook his head.
“The Eagle gang will be dealt with very soon. Besides, this is only going to tick them off and get them battle ready. Wouldn’t you rather fight them at their worst?” Shugo smiled. “I know I would. They’ll give everything they have! And we’ll crush their hopes and dreams before them.”
Clair stopped after she had put the warehouse behind her. “No, no,” she whispered over and over again as she ran her hands up and down Jake’s wounds. “No, please, Jake,” she felt tears falling.
“Why?” she yelled. “Why didn’t you just give up?”
She ran her hands over Jake and tried healing the wounds. “Come on, Jake, come on,” she repeated over and over. His body was so limp.
His eyes opened and he looked over at Clair. “Clair?” Jake asked. Clair leaned in. His voice was so quiet.
“It’s gonna be okay, Jake,” Clair tried to smile. “You’re alright, buddy. Just relax. I’ve got you. I came back. Come on, Jake. Just relax. It‘ll be like the old times again.”
Jake leaned his head back and smiled. “I did it,” he whispered. “I did it.”
    ****
“Stop!” Clair screamed. She dropped to her knees as she cried. Jake’s body in her hands. “Please, just stop! Everything, just stop.”
Q felt himself running towards Clair. He hadn‘t told his body to move it just had. “What happened?” Q asked as he ran up to Clair.
Clair looked up. The body clutched in her hands as tears dropped. “Jake, he’s. I really tried to make him leave. I‘m so sorry, I,” Clair stuttered. She looked away from Q and whispered, “He’s dead.”
