Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
I'm thinking of adding Tactics to my list of anime.... I'm a real sucker for Onymoudou.

I hear Onmyoudou takes place in that anime, and I only watched.... Shounen Onmyouji for that very reason, so Tactics will be on the list. lol

I'm really only watching One Piece, like one episode a day.

xD By time he gets caught up to where it is now, another 100 episodes would be out.SammyTheBootlegger wrote:At that pace it'll take you a couple years.

Depends.
If he skips filler that will make it a bit easier.

True story. I almost wish I had know ahead of time what was filler.

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
From what I hear, the filler in One Piece differs from other anime because Oda planned it all out. But they don't do anything with the main plot to begin with, so meh.
Makes me wonder how much of Detective Conan would be considered filler. xD

Yeah, and since it doesn't connect to the main storyline I still say skip it.

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
I seriously love that everyone spent the past few days talking about characters from a show I barely watched. Seriously. It makes me happy that my thread sparks conversations, even if I am not really apart of them. (This may sound kind of sarcastic, but I'm being genuine here.)
But on me for a minute~
Right now, not much has moved in the Anime/Manga department. I want to watch Gurren Lagann more but for whatever reason I've been slow in starting it.
And, after Gurren Lagann I am thinking of picking up Katekyo Hitman Reborn. I've been told to watch KHR before, but its really long and the first few episodes weren't great. They reminded me of a much less entertaining version of Zatch Bell. I started it and yeah.
But I've been told its really good and so. I've decided to try giving it a new start. Maybe it gets better. And if so, that could be a fun new series.
My only issue is that its 200 episodes long!!!
D.Gray-man about killed me and it was over 100 episodes long. Gintama I've been watching for months and its the same length. (Admittedly, KHR has a storyline, unlike Gintama).
If its good it will be really enjoyable and should keep me interested for a really long time. It'll be nice.
But it just makes me wary to start another super long series to add to my list.
Either way, Gurren Lagann I will watch first. Then deal with KHR.
Other than that just keeping up on the new episodes of these series~
Watching:
Fairy Tail
Beezlebub
Naruto Shippuden
One Piece
Gintama
And I think that's it. I may start Bleach up again since I hear its back on the main storyline. But I'm not particularly psyched. Just something to do.
Reading:
Bakuman
Cage Of Eden
Naruto
Bleach
One Piece
Fairy Tail
Soul Eater
D.Gray-man
And....I can't remember what else, homies.
Looking forward to the next season of Bakuman which will be out in Fall. That's about it anime-wise. ^_^
So there we go, homes!

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
Beezlebub and Garden of Eden have interesting names which vaguely give me the impression of Angel Sanctuary...
In any case, the new arc to Bleach is strange, I think. Typical shounen progression. I hear a lot of good things about KHR, but I dun think I'd watch it really...

Eh, they don't have anything to do with anything like that, yo.
Its not really typical Shounen progression, either.

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
I'm certain, but the names still kind of give that vibe.
I suppose. I used to call in "DBZ Syndrome".
Gain a power, fight, lose, train, fight, win, fight win, fight, lose, train, fight, fight bad guy using new ability from last training, epic win which can usually end up in the hero being wounded, either fatally or not. Next comes peace with a new bad guy gaining power, and you rinse and repeat. Order of gaining powers, fighting, losing, and winning may vary.
It's gotten old for me, really, so I try to lay off the shounen anymore.

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
So, basically, in Shounen the main character trains and works on new powers. Then he fights and he either loses or wins. And if he wins then a new bad guy shows up, and if he loses then he probably will live to fight him again. And he may be injured during the fight.
Well geez, no wonder.

Re: Q's Anime/Manga List
That just irks me. It's almost like a "Been there, seen that, next genre please." Sure, a lot of people enjoy that. But some anime follow the cliche so closely that you can almost guess what is going to happen next.
Just totally not my thing.

Shounen fullfils my intrinsic joy of animated violence amongst many other things. I could never reject it!

I feel that way with almost everything I read and watch, Luna.
But at least Shounen is interesting. ^_^ Unlike 90% of other Anime.
